The latest foo_gep (1.88) is still far from accurate for VGM. What's wrong with Dune that makes you think a re-log is necessary?

Something is not quite right with the very beginning of each track. I can't really tell what the problem is, sort of like a bad instrument at the start.

I can hear some weird stuff happening with the set. A nasty click is progressively introduced to all tracks after "Opening (German)" is played. In addition, there are some emulation inaccuracies (in both versions of "Credit Roll," possibly?) I'll report it to kode54. He recently updated the core to that of Genesis Plus GX, and there are issues to iron out.

I was talking about the Sega CD Dune, not the Megadrive Dune 2.

I only see one game with the title "Dune," so I don't know what you're talking about. VGM players still struggle for accuracy, anyway. Sega CD PCM still is not even implemented in the VGM format. (Yup, this whole VGM thing is kind of... lacking.)

For anyone wanting to rip Outlander and Ultimate Soccer, GDRI's Wiki indicates that they use the same sound engine as Gods. Of course, that game was easily rippable because it has a sound test; neither of the two other games I mention have such an option, sadly, so it'd likely require some RAM hacking.

Edited to add: Turns out it was easier-- Graftgold had the wonderful idea of adding an option to turn off sound effects. So here are the title themes for Outlander and Ultimate Soccer. Haven't ripped any other tunes from Outlander yet, but if anyone's got a request I'll gladly do it...

For those who are talking about FM rips of Sega CD games - it's only possible in VERY limited circumstances as the latest VGM spec doesn't emulate the extra hardware for audio in the Sega CD or 32X. It's for that reason that we only have one 32X game in our database - it doesn't use the PWM at all. Regardless, we have the stuff set up for if it ever does happen. You'd likely have to track down Maxim for that, however, or else a plugin would have to come in that can play prior VGM versions as well as add support for the new things (in_vgx, perhaps?)
